Yes — it is part of the material’s life outdoors. Left unfinished, the teak slowly shifts from its golden tone to a soft silver-grey patina. The change sits on the surface only; strength and durability are untouched. If you prefer the original tone, a teak cleaner will bring it back.
Very little is asked of you. For the teak, a soft-bristle brush with mild detergent and warm water clears dust and debris — a light clean at the end of the season is usually enough. The aluminum frame wipes down with soapy water; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners. The teak needs no oiling, sealing, or staining — its natural oils already do that work.
